Pretty sure they were joking since everyone compares them to Zeplin. They've stated before that Zeplin is a major influence

I completely get the Zeppelin cover remarks, but I still really like them and have since their first album came out. I'm just glad there's another band like them out there coming up considering most of the shite that's popular right now.

Even David Coverdale thinks they need to tone it down a bit.

They didn’t even know who LZ was when they were first asked.

if that is true, it's probably more sad than their actual sound. I can't get into this at all, just like a cover band

It's their schtick now as the LZ thing has likely been what's garnered most of the interest in them.

The band is talented but you can't tell me the kid singing couldn't tone down the Plant imitation, because he certainly could if he wanted to. However, it's more over the top on the new single than anything I've heard yet. Which just goes to show this is what they're going for.

Ugh. It would help if the singer had any stage presence at all. All they needed to top that off was the guitarist in a pair of super bell bottoms with the moon on them.

People keep saying Plant said good things about the band. This interview seems to show that he's more annoyed with them than anything.

I'd have more respect for them if they owned up to the Zeppelin influence in every interview they do. They only seem to admit it when the mood strikes them. Totally absurd.

Of course they know what LZ is. But when everybody is kicking their balls for sounding like them, why would they feed in?

Exactly. All these old bastards are complaining about modern music, and a band like Greta Van Fleet comes around to revive it, and the same guys wanting rock back are sitting on their asses listening to Kashmir 24/7.

GVF isnt reviving shite they do clearly have one hell of a P.R. machine behind them though. Theyre just entirely too inauthentic for alot of people. They couldve went in alot of different directions with that kids vocal talent. Yet he and the entire band chose to painstakingly mimic zeppelin. just seems like such a short sighted attempt to get people to pay attention

The guy cant help that he sounds like Plant. But they're super popular and got nominated for four grammys so maybe it's more then good PR guy

Also like it or not Greta is certainly reviving classic rock by exposing young people to the classic style

At this point I'll take musicians actually playing instruments.

People get butthurt about the LZ comparisons but I'm not gonna complain about some actual good music coming out.

People hating on them have a valid gripe.

However, how many bands out there today, making records with a major following actually play real rock music? Not metal, not screamo, not tool, not APC. I'm talking real gut bucket blasting rock and roll worthy of the guys who reinvented the genre in the 70s, 80s, 90s.

Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stoneage, Coheed and Cambria, Clutch, Greta Van Fleet. I'm sure there are others but these spring to mind when I think of real working, recording, traditional rock and roll bands. They play real instruments, they are talented and they have a main stream following. Green Day, Weezer, RHCP can all suck it because they stopped making good records 10+ years ago.
