What are the board’s thoughts on this band? One of my favorites. It Still Moves is a great album.

A lot of people love them. I think they are a douchebag band.

Why do you say that? Genuinely curious.

I really liked their first two records... I liked a couple of songs of of their next couple and then really lost all interest...

Saw them at the Hi-Ho Lounge in New Orleans, in early 2002... I don't really know what I was expecting, because their two records to that point were primarily a laid back, country tinged sound...

They came out with all the beards, flying Vs and loud as rock versions of the songs... I thought it was incredible...

One of my favorite bands. At Dawn through Z are all up there with my favorite albums with It Still Moves being the best. They went off track a little after that with a bunch of stuff that was just good but not great. I thought the Waterfall was their best since Z.

Also a great live band and Jim James solo stuff is worth a listen

I actually like Jim James solo stuff better. Good band though.

Great start and then slipping into mediocrity. Golden is an all-time favorite song.

Basically I really only listened to Z, but I do love that album. It reminds me of a very specific time and place in my life when it came out, so it’s fun to revisit that occasionally.

I was imbibing when I posted last night. I'm not a fan of theirs but I've been to their shows with my wife who is a fan. Always seems like a douchey crowd.

If you think everyone around you is a douche, usually it means you’re the douche

So clever. It just means most bands that get popular draw fans that are there for the scene, not the music.

It is a generalization pal. Why so defensive? Like I said, many friends whose musical opinions I respect like them. My opionion is just that.

Only a douche admits to broad sweeping negative generalizations

And only a douche says things like this

whose musical opinions I respect
