One is southern rock and one is Texas blues but I agree that MH is better than ZZ

No debate needed I’m pretty onboard with the thread title.

ZZ Top>Molly Hatchet.
But that's just me. Blues, blues, blues.
However, this tribute album says it all. (note the first "featuring" artist... )

Everyone has their own taste, but ZZ Top is special and on a level way above Molly Hatchet.

Molly Hatchet had like one song.

When they have a song like Blue Jean Blues. Get back to me.

ZZ Top is on a whole other level. It's not even debatable.

Exactly. ZZ Top is a great group.

One of my favorites. Hitting that growly low F is my favorite part.

Just Got Paid > Any MH song.
And I like MH.
And I like MH.

Having said that, Molly Hatchet is criminally underrated.

saw ZZ when the Eliminator tour was first out...
The Eliminator was named for Billy Gibbons chopped 1933 Ford...
the backdrop of the stage was a huge replica of the 33 Fords dashboard with the gas guage showing full...
at the end of the show it was showing empty...
great show...

Reminds me of ZZ Top concert in Monroe in the 90s with Jackal as the opener.
I was in the bathroom between acts when some drunk said, “ZZ Top is gonna have to kick arse if they’re gonna be better than Jackal.”

ZZTop and AC/DC are the best live bands I have seen. Saw ZZ at Hirsch on the Eliminator tour. Sounded just like the album. They put on a great show

I generally dislike elitist posts like, "Early so-and-so was the best" since you can like whoever the hell you want to. And I do like their hit period, but the stuff before Eliminator was indeed ZZ Top was the tits. Great-great albums.
