I was bummed they didn't play anything off of Lonesome Crowded West though.

just goes to show how many songs they have to choose from.
:kige:

the civic needs to put some fricking foam with curtains over it on the walls like the joy theater. hopefully, they can hire a consultant to fix it because the theater is incredible other than that. I sat in the balcony for dramamine and it sounded better up there. isaac brock also looked drunker and angrier than usual. overall a good concert but i liked spoon more.

oh and lol at the custy^ that said fricking grouplove and the revivalists are better

They seriously need to address the sound issues with the Civic

Neutral Milk Hotel, the only show I have seen there, sounded fine.

Were you up in the balcony? That's really the only spot that sounds OK. If you're on the floor it just sounds like a blend of noise.

I was on the floor.

They do have a low key set up though, centered around acoustic guitar.

Yeah that's probably why. It was hard to hear moe. down on the floor so we went up to the balcony and it sounded better. The venue just seems like it's squished together

Next big one for me is Jack White at the Saenger June 3. Anders Osborne and Orgone the next day, then Cut Copy a few weeks later. Probably some other stuff I am forgetting.

Not many shows on my radar after Jazz Fest and these Spoon and MM shows...

HOB has Lucinda Williams, Stephen Marley, The 1975 and The Kills within the next month.

I'm coming into town for Anders at the square. Probably last chance to see him until his Holiday Tips shows. I'm seeing Jack White and Cut Copy at Roo this year, but still may go see Cut Copy at the Joy- that should be fun. I'm going to see McCartney as well. I'll see Elton John and Paul McCartney in the same week. That should be cool.

I saw Modest Mouse in 2007 at the HOB in NOLA. Sound was terrible then also. It was my first time seeing them so I was pretty disappointed. Isaac looked pissed the whole time because they couldn't get the sound right.

I've probably seen them about 4 or 5 times since then, and the sound was great.

So I take it from your response to my comment that you went to all three shows MM, grouplove at HoB and the Revivalists at jazz fest. Is that correct or are you just being a complete Internet douchebag?

Gotta say that Modest Mouse is the most disappointing live band I've seen. Not the worst, just most disappointing. I saw them a few years ago. Show was long but boring. The whole band seemed completely uninterested, had no energy, and when Isaac addressed the crowd, he just mumbled something unintelligible into the microphone. It was a sold out show, yet it was pretty much the epitome of a band going through the motions. I've never really been able to enjoy them as much since then.
