Respect him, greatly, but can't bare his voice.

The more I listened over the years, the more I came to respect his voice. He’s not conventional, He’s a deceptively skillled singer. His voice fits his catalogue perfectly.

I'm with you there. It took me years to go from almost ignoring him to really liking his stuff. Still can't take him singing live, but his studio stuff from the 60's/70's gets a lot of listening time.

Great song no doubt but I love Dylan. Here is a live version from 1966 in england that I think is really powerful in its minimalism. LINK

Saw Jason and the Scorchers at a college radio conference in Washington, DC in March of 1984. They put on a damn good show.

I don't think it was the best song, but I really liked the way it was recorded and built.

I was thinking more about timbre, phrasing, etc than range.

The way, that I always thought about this song: Johanne was Joan Baez and Dylan was just saying, that he was leaving that kind of shite, because it was messed up and bass ackward . He never did a folk festival again.

I saw them in '87 at The Texas Club. Barely anyone in there, but those guys played like there were 10,000. A brief fight broke out right up against the stage. Jason popped one of the guys with the mic stand

My college roommate used to get stoned and blast bob dylan from his shitty blown speakers of his acura integra. I've had a hard time enjoying him ever since.
