Marcus King potential?

I grew up listening to Allman Brothers with my old man. Marcus King’s music is bringing me back. He really calls up all my favorite guitar legends from song to song. Anyone think he can be huge? The talent is there.

Really good guitar player from the Carolinas. He was as “discovered” by Warren Haynes (ABB & Govt Mule fame) about 5-7 years ago. MK, his drummer and bass player have been together for a long time …since they were 17/18 years old I think. MK doesn’t have the “image” of famous entertainers. However, he’s a legit badass guitar player and musician. He’s got some great tunes, but none have achieved hit status in the modern era of sampled music in the duration standard of TikTok videos.

No. Not in today's environment. If you aren't rapping, bro countrying or poppy musicing then you ain't getting huge. He has a strong following, and I think that will grow, but huge is not attainable for blues rock guitarists right now.

Been listening to MK for a few years now. Saw him open for Tedeschi Trucks in 2018, great set. He & Samantha Fish have been my 2 big finds in this area in recent years, though Fish isn't sticking to just the blues/rock vibe.

He’s super talented but southern rock is just so bland. Hope he tries to branch out and expand his sound at some point.
