Slayer - War Ensemble. I mean, it's ultimately anti-war, but it's not cloaked in flowers and perfume.

Not sure their intent was to write a "pro-war" song, but The Trooper by Iron Maiden is of course great. It is a song about the "Charge of the Light Brigade" poem which describes the heroics of British troops ordered into a hopeless situation.

Paschendale is another great song by Iron Maiden. I wouldn't describe it as either pro- or anti-war in its town. It just describes the horror and the epicness of the battle and WW1 trench war in general.

Around the time of the Iranian hostage crisis I remember several parodies of Barbara Ann with a bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran chorus.

how has no one suggested Sabaton?!

I'm being facetious as they're more historical but damned if every song they do doesn't get you fired up.

I mean, the song about a Swedish king that was basically a celibate war monk makes you want to be Swedish and have Sweden taken over Europe back around 1700.

They have pretty much made a song about every trooper in every war.

Hard not to read the intent as anti-war, but man, this is a truly great tune. Doesn't get nearly enough credit in the Maiden catalogue.

The song construction is brilliant. Particularly when they go over the top. Live versions are excellent.
