I recently saw Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder at the Ryman Auditorium. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen, and the Ryman was an enormous reason why. It’s an incredible venue with a certain magic in the air, and there is not a bad seat in the house. If an act that you remotely like is scheduled to play there, I would absolutely recommend getting tickets, and taking the trip up to Nashville.

Back to normalcy. Saw them at the Joy just a few months before the world shut down.

the joy is the best venue in town. Comfortably grubby and no hassles

Went with the wife and a couple of her friends to see George Strait and Chris Stapleton last Saturday night in Tampa. Now I am not a big country music fan so I was there for moral support and to be the designated driver. I enjoyed the Stapleton part of the show and I understand why people like George Strait. But overall his show was boring to me. I get why people really cling to him. He is old school and does not waver. He supports the right things as well. But for me, I enjoy exciting shows. He basically just stood there in one spot for 32 songs and played a guitar and sang.

Not being negative on country, its very popular. Its just not my gig.

As for country concerts I have seen, Id put Strait down there. And I have not seen many

telluride festival was great. We saw a bunch of good music including the word, Bonnie raitt, the roots, the revivalists and Robert cray. If you have the ways and means I highly recommend planning to go to a summer festival here it’s a special place

then greensky bluegrass at the joy theater on 11/18, and three nights of Billy strings for new years

It’s been an incredible music year, best yet
