Next weekend I have a choice to make.

I've never seen Little Feat ... wonder if their stuff today will still be good.

OR .. I've seen Papa Grows Funk twice already this year, and will likely have chances to see them more in the future.

My son (18yo) will be with me. He's a big PGF fan, but has liked the little of LF he has heard.

Your thoughts?

PGF plays every week at The Maple Leaf. Little Feat is the obvious choice. See you there.

It's not a New Orleans question; I'll be in Atlanta next weekend (Variety Playhouse vs Old Smith's Bar)

And since I don't live in N.O., I don't make it to Maple Leaf on Mo nights.

Both are good bands and you will probably have the same amount of fun at each show. I would go with the one that has cheapee tickets. Also, probably more chicks for your kid at papa grows funk.

Not sure if Bill Payne, the keyboardist, is on tour with LF. If he's not, makes the decision all that easier in my mind. PGF is good and their live shows are strong as hell.

Well, being an old fart, I saw Little feat with George back in the 70's. fricking fantastic, of course. I saw them several years ago after his death at Tip's and they were still a very good band and were great live. But, no, not the same without LG.

Saw Creedence with Fogerty in the 70's.

Next week, I think I'm buying a color tv.

May be true but the best concert I've ever seen was Little Feat without Lowell George. It was the first one after his death, though. I've seen them a few times since. Two very good shows and one pretty crappy one. If you've never seen them you should give it a try.

Turns out what I thought didn't matter. #4 son would've done Little Feat if Papa Grows Funk hadn't been the other choice.

Great show, we both really enjoyed it.

Also enjoyed an opening band from Savannah, GA .. A Nickel Bag of Funk: facebook page
