REM used to kick arse. Going to listen to Murmur and then Life's Rich Pageant in the next 2 hours as well.

I was in middle school, and yes, I was into them at that time also. My favorite albums from REM are those in the early to mid eighties.

Reckoning is one of five CDs I still have in my car (with jewel case). Great album, but my favorite from that era of R.E.M. is easily Life's Rich Pageant .

IMHO, Monster is not a great album, but has some tunes which are SO awesome, that it´s an absolute must.

Their IRS years were clearly their best, but I love how Green is considered a "sellout album" yet has songs like I Remember California and The Wrong Child on it.

Pure greatness. Saw them at The Bayou on the Chronic Town tour I think. Then at The Sanger when they had gotten bigger. After about Orange LP I stopped paying attention.
