Sounds like some bubble gum pop version of the worst church music ever

According to Google, "Bubblegum music (or bubblegum pop) is an upbeat, catchy genre of pop and rock music deliberately written, produced, and marketed for children, preteens, and young teenagers.

Key Characteristics

• Simple & Repetitive: Songs feature easy-to-sing-along-to hooks, nursery-rhyme structures, handclaps, bright major-key harmonies, and playful nonsense syllables (like la-la or sha-la-la).
• G-Rated Themes: Lyrics focus tightly on innocent teen romance, dancing, and having fun, lacking the heavier themes of rage, fear, or grit found in standard rock".

You probably didn't even listen to the song, "Maze of Madness".

The song "Maze of Madness" lacks all of those characteristics of Bubble music.

My brother certainly is a songwriter. He's written and composed a lot of songs.

No one is arguing that your brother is not a songwriter. We are telling you that you are not a songwriter.

I wrote the lyrics for a song called, "Bubbles" which I had AI compose the music and provide the singer.

That means I'm the songwriter of this particular song.

I saw a bubble floating
Softly in the air.
I did not know from where it came
Or who had sent it here.

The mighty wind's invisible hands
Caressed it on its way.
Flowing with the gentle breeze
It danced and played all day.

I wanted to reach out to it
And in my hand to take,
So cautiously I approached it
And hoped it would not break.

But when I tried to touch it
As tenderly as I dare,
Just then my eyes did blink
And no longer was it there.

I cried for I couldn't help
That which I had done.
But looking up once again
I noticed there was another one.

This time I dare not touch it
And again it did dance and play,
But as I sat and watched it,
It slowly drifted away.

It hurt me even more this time
And once again I cried,
For it was too late I realized
I should at least have tried.

I was thinking that I'd never get
Another chance to try,
When to my great astonishment
A third one floated by.

So once again I had a chance,
I simply reached out my hand,
And guided by the gentle breeze
That's where it came to land.

I watched it as it laid there
In my outstretched hand,
And for the first time in my life
I did understand.

You’re not a songwriter; you’re a lyricist. Those aren’t the same thing, but they are related.

You're wrong. I've posted the definition of "songwriter" in this thread twice already but I'll post it again to educate you.

According to Merriam-Webster, a songwriter is "a person who composes words or music or both especially for popular songs."

Merriam-Webster lists composer, musician, lyricist, and tunesmith as the primary synonyms for "songwriter".

According to Wikipedia, "Songwriters can be employed in a variety of different ways. They may exclusively write lyrics or compose music alongside another artist."

Therefore, I am the songwriter of this song.

If it's completely AI it can get rekt.

If it's getting a past voice to sing a modern song I don't mind so much.

If the AI is simply assisting the creator with compiling the singing and music it's ok.

Let's lean into this a bit. Would say that you're a composer? How about a musician?

There's nothing to lean into.

Since I wrote all of the lyrics of that song I'm the songwriter of that song because Merriam-Webster defines a songwriter as "a person who composes words or music or both especially for popular songs".

I was so disappointed to find out Eddie Dalton was AI because he sounds damn good IMO. But I will not knowingly listen to AI generated music.

I don’t care if AI is used on the periphery as long as AI is not directly generating the music.

You just can't admit Merriam-Webster's definition of "songwriter" includes someone who only writes the lyrics of a song.

All the terms you are talking about are just different synonyms for "songwriter".

You can lean into whatever you want but as far as I'm concerned the debate on this issue is over and you lost.
