Kurt Vile Sucks

He seems to be one of the more trending artists in the indie hipster scene and I don’t understand why. Don’t get me wrong, I like indie rock, but Kurt has to be one of the more boring artists out there. Group him together with the wet towel that is Courtney Barnett and you have that poor attempt at an album, Lotta Sea Lice. The slouched over, monotone heroin-rock can only go so far. Mac DeMarco already did that and he’s enjoyable to listen to.
His demeanor, lyrics, and sound are all things I just can’t understand how so many people love it. If anyone can post an example of a well-written & well-played song by him, please do.

I liked his early stuff but he has gotten boring the last few releases. And the lp w/ Courtney Barnett sucked. But I really like Barnett's solo stuff and I just saw her live this week and she rocked way harder than her recorded stuff.

I like him, and I think he gets a lot of cred from his War On Drugs days. I like War On Drugs better without him though.
I think his sound and his style of guitar is pretty unique, and I appreciate artists that do their own thing. Not that he's innovating some new sound, it's just got a different vibe to it.
I don't like Courtney Barnett, but I do like the album she did with Kurt.
I'm not going to try and convince you on anything. Music is subjective. If it doesn't move you, no worries. Life Like This is my favorite of his songs.

I have seen kurt vile at three music fests, but never seen him solo. All three sets were great but don't feel a compulsion to listen to an album.
I did like elements of his album with courtney barnett. And i like her solo stuff.

I really love Smoke ring for my halo. He has a handful of tracks off other records I dig too, but smoke ring is the only album I’ll listen to start to finish.
But he certainly doesn’t suck. I get that he’s not for everybody.
ETA: I’m actually not a huge fan of Courtney Barnett, but I still think she’s quality, and her song Hopefulessness is legit.

He sings like some annoying, preachy hippy. He should just not sing at all. I think he is a great musician.

The jam at the end of lost my head there is nasty. I listen to the that song on an almost weekly basis since it came out
