Apparently he kicked a female photographer last night sending her to the hospital. WTH?

Read about that. Really surprising as I've always heard he's one of the nicest, most genuine guys in the music industry. His apology was pretty weak as well.

He kicked a camera, and not really hard. Still a dick move, but the article I read made it seem like he hit the chick with a roundhouse to the jaw.

This. Almost every site reporting on this says he "kicked a photographer" which is complete BS. But his apology was kinda ridiculous. He knew he was kicking a camera. Who knows why? Maybe the person was being annoying and encroaching on the stage space with her camera throughout the show? Maybe he just wanted to be a dick and kick something? The fact is that he did not kick some person in the face, and it's fake news like this that really grinds my gears. I doubt he thought about what he did enough to see that it could hurt someone, and he was probably wasted too.

This whole thing really disappointed me. It's one thing to be a bad-arse rock and roller. It's another thing to kick a woman in the head -- especially with all the shite that's going on right now. His second apology was worlds better. I'm wondering if this isn't a sign that a trip to rehab is coming. (There was some similar shite with Billie Joe Armstrong acting like a dick on stage right before he went to rehab.)

Why do people keep repeating this?
That’s not what happened. I think he made a bad decision obviously but this has been waaay exaggerated but some news outlets and some outright lying that he kicked a photographer in the head.

Every headline I've seen said "kicked in the head" -- from a variety of legit news outlets. Even Anthony Bourdain, who is friends with Josh Homme, used the phrase "kicked in the head"
I don't want to watch the video because I like the guy. Bottom line is it's shitty to kick stuff around people. I have friends who are photographers and that's a tough gig. If someone is holding a camera in front of their face and you kick it, you're kicking them in the head.

Guess what gets more clicks? "Kicked a camera that injured a photographer's head" or "kicked a photographer in the head"?

If you didn't watch the video, then why are you arguing?

No, you aren't. What if no injury occurred and the camera just flew out of her hands? Nobody would be saying anything about him kicking a photographer in the head. You didn't watch the video, so you don't really have a clue as to what really happened.

Kicking someone directly in the head implies that the kicker intended to hurt the person. Kicking someone's camera implies that the kicker was trying to damage the camera, most likely.

It doesn't make it right what he did, and yeah it was shitty, and yeah he admits that and apologized. He should pay for her medical bills too IMO. But he did not kick anyone in the head.

If you are wearing sunglasses and someone punches you in those sunglasses and as a result of the impact your eye gets blown up, are you going to be all correct about it? When someone asks, what happened?, will you tell them someone just punched your sunglasses?

If that happens to me, I'm going to google "false equivalence."

Yeah, that's a fair analogy. Because camera's are normally something people "wear" and are attached to the face... . If you were holding any large object near your face and someone slapped it away and incidentally that object hit your face and injured you, yes, I would say that the person slapped the large object, and not your face. If the person punched the object into your face, I'd say that he punched the object into your head.

It doesn't look like he kicked the camera toward the person's face, but across it, and the injury was more incidental to kicking the camera. I'd be more upset if he went with the sole of his shoe toward her face, because it'd be a lot more obvious that he was trying to hurt her.

Really? He has always been a dick, he does something like this every tour. When he was in Kyuss he kicked a fan in the face and broke his jaw.

I think the "nicest" and "genuine" part is more of his off stage persona. This isn't the first time he has got into it with the crowd, but it's usually unruly people.

He kicked the camera. Person was pretty close to the stage I bet he was drunk and annoyed. He still kept rocking like it wasn’t a big deal. And to me it wasn’t. Stupid media always blows shite way out of proportion for a gotcha moment. frick em.

I'm a big Kyuss guy and some the interviews (granted he was a kid) he just comes off as a dick.

"oh wow can we get these lights in my face any brighter?"

"great question, only heard that 50 times this year"

That was a pretty hard shot. Definitely a shitty thing to do and uncalled for.

She was holding the camera up to her face... it was a total a-hole thing to do and there was no way to do it with out injuring someone... did he kick her in the actual face? no.. but its a distinction without a difference really...
