One of the best shows I ever saw was John and Levon Helm at Red Rocks. RIP John

I guess he's whistling and fishing in Heaven.

My first instinct is to tell you to frick off, but another part of me is jealous because I wish I could go back and hear some of his songs for the first time again. Do yourself a favor and look him up.

What a sad situation. Saw him in 2005 at Wilshire Theater and didnt know much about him before then, but never forgot that voice. What a life and a singer songwriter.

Honestly, no one is surprised by this.

RIP to one of the greatest. He brought me many happy times. His gravelly voice & perfect lyrics were always a joy to hear.

My first musical 'hero'. Major bummer.
I sure do agree with Kacey Musgraves

Damn...this is crazy, as crazy as a loon.
I passed on him and Nancy one time...Something I really regret.

Godspeed
I have been a fan for 40 yrs when I was a young teenager, saw him 2x and regret not seeing his last tour. Check out his tiny desk concert or Austin city limits show …
I hoped he would improve but as others have said frick this virus
