and it's going to be difficult to beat. It has been a while since I've had an album come out that I keep wanting to spin from beginning to end. I am a big fan of his music, but I don't find his records to be complete. Each one has some great songs, but there are usually a few that fall flat. This one doesn't do that; even the lesser songs are very good.

I encourage all of you to go give this a listen, and I hope you find it as engaging as I do.

It's really good.

Saw him this past Friday in Chicago. The place was packed and on fire

J.J. has the most soulful voice of any white dude around.

And Mofro is tight as hell.

We are going to see him in Birmingham the last weekend of April. Taking the kids and making it a long weekend hiking trip. I'm hoping to go to the following Thursday show in NOLA with Samantha Fish opening, but that's going to be a last minute decision. Thursdays are tough for me usually.

I'm a JJ fan and have been for years, I've only listened to it once and it was ok, I'll give it another listen. Black Crowes new album is better in my opinion.

I more into the Crowes' new one too but the first half of the album is pretty solid. I guess being on Alligator Records, it has a bigger production sound to it than his previous.

He has an interesting take on Seminole Wind cover. Probably not my favorite but very different.

I like it, but his live performances of this are better.

I need to check out the new Crowes record. I have seen some praise for it.

Avondale Brewing Company. It looks like a cool concert setup, so I’m interested to see what it’s like.

He always crushes here in KC - plays and sells out Knuckleheads venue every time. Always a good show. Good hang, but gets the drunk crowd, big time!!

He got pissed at us back in the day at the bar I worked at in BR because the show poster had JJ Grey spelled the same size as & Mofro… this was right after they changed it from just Mofro.

I like his music and he puts on a great show.

I haven't listened to the new one but his early stuff always reminded me of Delbert. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, I like Delbert.) 99 Shades is kind of a departure from that and a great song.
