With all the songs in their discography, THIS is the one you site as the best? State your case.

it blew me away the first time i heard it because it sounded unlike anything else..i first heard them like most people when 'people are people' hit which i thought was amazing and bought all their albums but most of their songs had a similar tone and electronic-synth heavy beat.
i didn't even know it was DP doing Jezebel the first time i heard it and thought it was an amazing song and then when i looked up the artist it blew my mind.

Its got a seedy lounge kind of feel to it as does the subject matter. I just find I don't care much for Martin's vocals on it - the vibrato in his voice gets annoying and he's had some stellar lead vocal tracks. Notably "Home" from ULTRA which was probably his last great vocal. Depeche has been my favorite band since age 13 but pretty much everything from ULTRA in 97 has been sub par to just bad compared to the glorious 86-98 era.

Definitely in the top 3 and along with Personal Jesus probably the most popular. For me their best composition musically and lyrically is "In Your Room" from Songs of Faith and Devotion.

But I do like that song.
