Jazz Fest done changed since my parents used to take me as a child. The only one that fits as what I think Jazz Fest should be is Trombone Shorty. It used to be about promoting New Orleans music and culture. Now it's gotten to be about this headliner bullshite. I guess the local artists are still there to an extent, but you have to pay through the nose for these headliner douches that I don't even really care about.

id say more than 50% of those acts have New Orleans ties. Probably more.
ETA: actually way more. You get past that 4th line of artists and its basically all local people

Right, and I think those artists probably appreciate the fact those headliners bring in people who may never have seen them otherwise. Its a good relationship.
