Saw this ROCKumentary last week on Paladia. Very cool to see these 3 from different styles/generations playing guitar together. Talking about shite. The Edge, Jimmy Page 
, and Jack White.
There is a moment where Page is telling a story and White is staring at him looking kind of smiley/giggly like he is a little kid living his dream to play guitar with Jimmy Page.

Thought it was cool to see two completely different styles together (Page and Edge).

I never really "got" Jack White until I saw that film. I was familiar with the White Stripes, but hadn't paid a whole lot of attention to them. I wasn't even sure why they picked White as the representative from the modern era. His passion for music and respect for the art impressed me and made me a fan.

The Edge made Jack White a believer. White called him a "sonic engineer." Not really cheap in my book.

I already loved Jack White and Jimmy Paige. If anything this movie showed me how talented the edge really is.

Saw it too and as the OP mentioned the part where white is staring at Page while he plays a riff (whole lotta love I think) is cool as hell. Despite being famous himself he has the look on his face like this is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

I always wanted to check this out. No Direction Home is a pretty awesome documentary about Bob Dylan directed by Scorsese. One of my favorite documentaries.

This. The Edge is a totally different type of player and he's very good. White and Page both appreciate him.

I have not seen this yet and I also wondered why they Picked Jack White when there are TONS of other guitarists with talent and charisma...but they obviously wanted a younger player, symbolic of the 21st century. If White is a student of the art as he is often talked about, I am sure it's a good thing to watch.

I am in no way saying that I think The Edge is bad at what he does. On the contrary, I think he is fantastic.
But of those three guys, if you walked up to them with a guitar, handed it to him, and said "give it hell" I think he'd be the least likely to impress without the rest of his sound equipment.

I like The Edge, also. If there's one guy who sounds a bit like him, who I think is much better and never gets credit -- n oone really knows him -- it's Marty Wilson-Piper of The Church. He has some incredibly uncanny riffs. I wish more people knew who he was and gave him props. He's extremely underrated. When I hear The Church, who preceded U2, I hear a bit of Piper in The Edge's stuff. I think I do anyway.
