It blows my mind Steve Lukather or Toto aren’t in the Rock ‘n Roll HOF

I was at a Toto concert this weekend and just thinking about how much Steve Lukather has accomplished in his career. Toto was badass too. It doesn’t make sense to me.

You are right. They should be in the ROR HOF but they are one of the bands that are not considered to be in the edgy, cool club of the Jann Wenner elitists of the music industry. It's a shame.

Lukather has been a part of over 1,500 albums including some huge hits. He should definitely be in the R&R HOF for his work as a musician, guitarist, vocalist, composer, and producer. HOF Voters often have a political agenda and will vote for their friends and/or musicians - bands that have sold the most albums.

They started appeasing thr boomer casino circuit a while ago. Garbage like Pat Benatar and Foreigner are already in there.

It’s not that big of a surprise to me Listen to some of his solo albums. He’s taking some nasty shots at some executives. Still one of my top 3 players. Always the tastiest playing.

I just went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Totally underwhelming; nothing. Nearly a complete waste of space. It's no wonder Robert Smith didn't really care about being inducted.

It would be interesting to see how many artists are in the Hall that Lukather played for. Google AI says "it easily exceeds 30-40 major artists."

Pat Benatar is NOT garbage and should have been inducted well before the Bangles or Go-Gos. She’s a serious rock singer with major chops who influenced scores of female rock singers. Plus Neil Geraldo is one of the most underrated guitarists out there.
Another band that’s not in that deserves it is the Guess Who. Sinful.

The Bangles are not in it. The GoGos are, and more deservingly than Benatar . They actually wrote their own music and played instruments. Benatar couldn’t even come up with something as mundane as “Hit me with your best shot” on her own.

I could be wrong but I don’t think he played on Edge of Seventeen. I think that's Waddy Wachtel.
