They aren't exactly great songwriters either......

That's OK though. They make their living off of their musicianship.

Yeah, I guess all those philharmonic orchestras that played with Trey don't know anything about good music. You are so smart.

Fluffhhhhhhhhhhhhhead!

for when my hand was holding hers
she whispered words and I awooooooke
and faintly bouncing around the room

Phish lyrics are one of kind and often overshadowed by Trey's guitar.

You get so insulted. Just relax and enjoy Phish and understand not everyone is going to agree with you. Not everyone thinks Phish is the best thing since sliced bread.

ETA: And despite this article's author's point of view, there are people that don't love and don't hate. That are in the middle; I am one.

I for one could never get into their lyrics, just not my style. I was in it for the type II jams, which is also why my favorite years were the late 90s to early 2000s.

While I respect Phish and I do acknowledge they have talent, I don't think they are a decent band. That is just my opinion.

Aren't you a big Mumford fan or something?

I like that one song that starts out slow and quiet and then builds. At the peak the guy is singing about his heart, and then the banjo comes in over the top of that.

I would listen to Phish well before Mumford.

funny how cottonwasking always tries to discount phish on little things like lyrics. Phish has some pretty incredible lyrics IMO. Maybe not as good as "chilly water", "sippin on a tall boy", or "aint life grand?" but still pretty good
