Glastonbury is the one example I am using but Europe has had many festivals with the same blueprint for years. Glastonbury is a multi day, multi stage, pay for ticket, almost entirely camping festival which has been going on since 1970

well if thats the case, how come there haven't been huge festivals in the state since the 70s?

Meh to an extent. I wouldn't say that they would be what they are today unless Bonnaroo had happened. I understand Phish's team provided the basis but had Bonnaroo or something similar not happened then it wouldn't be as big as it is now.

Are you saying those aren't big? You're a fool.

Also, Coachella's people paid their respect to Phish by hosting a Phish festival on the polo grounds in 2009.

That scene always made me laugh.

Thanks for telling a bunch of phish fans, the only ones who would buy the dvd about pot and what "shotgunning" is.

How come electronic didn't blow up in the states the same day it did in Europe?

Phish contributed, but by no means did they show anyone the way to do it.

Phish helped influence camping festivals. They did not invent anything.

The man guy in there, Brian, posts as bphishin on PT. It is pretty funny to hear him talk about that scene.

They invented single artist festivals. Which as far as I know has yet to break into the main stream.

If I had a PT account I would ask to teach me how to shotgun in every thread he posts.

you might want to look up niche. Phish has one of largest followings of any band in the country if not the largest. A philistine and a dumbass. What a combination

Someone please name a SINGLE band who influenced the modern music festival more than Phish.

You can't.

Phish wins.

Camp Bisco brah. It's somewhat mainstream in the northern US.
