How do you discover new music?

I find myself way behind all the time in discovering these new bands. I guess because I'm always only listening to music that I already have. I get pissed at Pandora because it always strays too far from the type of music of the station that I create. I've never tried spotify.

look some albums that you like up on itunes. scroll down to the albums other people bought section and find some stuff you don't recognize. then repeat this.

honestly I don't really know how I find my music. I don't really have a method or anything. I just do.
It probably doesn't hurt that I am on a lot of music message boards.
I also attend a lot of jam band shows. No telling what cover they may play or the shite you're liable to hear in the lot.
I'll find a lot of bands through TV shows also.

I used to discover bands by using messageboards from bands that I like. Usually those people had similar tastes so it was easy to find bands. Now it is even easier with spotify. This board is great for that.

I like this one LINK but I doubt many others here will unless you're into stoner/doom/psychedelic type stuff. Your best bet is to google whatever genre you're looking for and blogspot and just check random links. Most blogs will also have tons of links to other similar blogs as well.

At home, I listen to the digital cable music channels. I keep a pen and pad next to the tv and write down the info on new songs I like.
