t’s what country music posers think is “outlaw country”
It's crappy songs wrapped in an Alternative Outlaw "package" for mass consumption.

I would like to hear a definition of what country music is

Same thing Zac Brown did...no difference. It’s a Nashville marketing ploy to get the bros that don’t want to admit they are listening to girl music
Zac Brown made it after doing the dive bar circuit for years
You can shite on the music, but he's not a Nashville creation. He's a dude who paid his dues and cashed in, and I don't blame him at all.

The guy did a song with Justin Timberlake for Christ sake
Willie Nelson did collaborations with fricking Snoop Dogg, Sheryl Crow and Toby Keith

That was well after Willie became a legend. People wanted to play with Willie, he didn’t need to play with them.
Stapleton needed JT to make It big. Pretty basic concept

It's not basic, it's dumb and inaccurate

Without Jt, Chris would still be playing for pennies in some lame bluegrass bands

Guess this dick didn't care for Greg Allman either. Simply stated, the guy is the closest blue eyed soul singer we've had to Allman in many, many years. Not saying he's the singer Allman was, but he sings from his nut sack and has soul. As a matter of fact, you should see back folks react to his singing. They love that shite. And no, I don't consider what he does country.

Chris Stapleton now = Gregg Allman?
Gold Jerry, Gold!

Definitely won’t be on our Dallas Cowboys tailgate mix this season
Nope, OP is gonna jam Jaimie Johnson’s “redneck side of me” and not think it’s even the smallest bit ironic he thinks CS sucks.

You like Cher... so there.
But really, I bought 10 tix to CS on my company expense card to take a big group of customers on 10/19/18.
Now I feel like a douchebag. Kind of like when I was given a choice of black or white Maui Jim’s as a registration gift at a customer golf tournament. I rarely wear sunglasses so I chose white because I thought they looked cool. I was told I looked like a douche by a few friends when I sported them out so I retired them. Now I find out I am a douche for buying all of these tix to a pretender country singer. I thought everyone liked him but now I am very worried. Thanks

I bet you and your boys just play Pat Green's "wave on wave" on repeat while surrounded by tailgates blaring the Latin top 100

Latin hot 100 gets those tailgates pumped up. Sorry that the tailgates in the south just have bro country and the cupid shuffle on repeat

I'm sure you'll be rocking the Garth Brooks and Brad Paisley, though.....

Are we ignoring that this entire thread is predicated on an ad hominem attack?

Garth Brooks is a pussy from Oklahoma and Brad Paisley is a dweeb that hocks car insurance. Wouldn’t even whiff the famed Dallas cowboy playlist

I'm sure we can agree on Blake Shelton, great red dirt/Texas-style artist

When ZBB was just more stripped down version of crappy pop county. Stapleton is just their “edgy” version of pop country
The difference is he is actually a decent musician. I agree he has gotten pretty bubble-gum since his career took off. But the dude is musically gifted.
That said, I wish he had never left the Steeldrivers.
