His voice is unreal.
Fascination Street, A Forest, Want, From the edge of the deep green sea, A night like this, Inbetween days, close to me, lullaby, Lovesong. I was sad to hear Just like Heaven cuz I thought it was over but then Boys don’t cry. So perfect.
Pictures of you- gave me chills
Can’t wait for the new stuff

The Cure sound absolutely excellent. Smith still sounds like he is in his 20s

It was a great show. The only strange thing were the 2 screens above them in the corners. They were terrible angles and actually looked farther than the naked eye. Like looking through the wrong side of binoculars? Jazzfest has the Smoothie King smoked in that aspect

Makes me question if they are doing some back tracking. He sounded amazing last night, but he is 64 years old and will be playing 3 hour shows on back to back backs on this concert. If it sounds the same on all three shows I cry BS. I understand last night was the first show of this tour so will cut him a little slack, but man he sounded too perfect.
I still really enjoyed the show no matter what though and that is what counts in the end.

The final song of the first set is one of the new songs to be coming out. I googled it during the first intermission, and it is called "Endsong." That one got me. That was one stunning piece of music, and the lyrics of the first verse were something special. Now I am excited for the new record.
Here are the lyrics for Endsong.
Reading up on it he wrote it after losing both his parents and his brother in a 2 year stretch recently. Here's a youtube link to the song. I love this.

quote:
Yeah, I'm outside in the dark
Staring at the blood red moon
Remembering the hopes, the dreams I had
All I had to do
And wondering what became of that boy
And the world he called his own
Yeah, I'm outside in the dark
Wondering how I got so old
It's all gone, it's all gone
Nothing left of all I love
All feels lost
It's all gone, it's all gone, it's all gone
No hopes, no dreams, no more
I don't belong
I don't belong here anymore
It's all gone, it's all gone
I will lose myself in time
It won't be long
It's all gone, it's all gone, it's all gone
Left alone with nothing at the end of every song
Left alone with nothing at the end of every song
Left alone with nothing
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing

I thought his voice sounded great too but I don’t think the songs really push or strain his range. Let’s not act like he’s a super high energy guy or a diva

From my vantage point, he took no short cuts. He sang and played every note. The dude is a work horse. #Respect

I hate "Friday" with a passion. Lame song.
played it on World Cafe last night, apparently when Smith wrote it he decided he had to have stolen the chord progression from some other song as he thought it was 'too perfect not to have been used before', but he couldn't ever find another song like it anywhere

Went to the show last night. They sounded fricking incredible. The whole band.

Yes the whole band was incredible but next to Robert we need to talk about the bassist Simon he never stopped moving.
He’s been with the band since basically the beginning and he plays the same way. Never stops moving

Probably the best concert I've been to in the last decade. They were going to end it at the 2 hour mark but when on for another hour. Robert's voice hasn't aged a bit. The crowd was great too and a bit younger than I was expecting.
