Hearing "Voodoo Chile"'s opening guitar, does Hendrix or 2 Live Crew first come to mind?

If you're being honest, it's "My Seven Bizzos."

Hendrix. I haven't heard any 2 Live Crew in years.

Definitely doesn't remind me of them then.

Does it remind me of the guitar player and originator of the melody or some obscure rap group?

Better question is "Jimi" or "Stevie" - but I can generally tell now.

(ETA: And you mean, Voodoo Child (slight return), not Voodoo Chile, which is a different, albeit related song - 2 Live Crew sampled the guitar intro from the former for that song you're thinking of.)

Also ETA: Enjoy your downvotes!

It's funny, but to this day I can't hear "Voodoo Chile" without saying aloud, "The Biggest Icon in Wrestling..."

Jimi or Stevie.

And Ace is right, it's Voodoo Child (Slight Return). Voodoo Chile is a related but different song.

Lately I think about this guy, Lachy Doley, playing it on the Whammy Clav.
