think Portugal the Man played the single they had just released that day or something twice when I saw them.

ETA: It was the added on song to the encore the second time they played it I think.

With Phish, how can you possibly tell where one song ends and another begins. The one time I saw them in New Orleans, I pretty much was daydreaming the entire time that they were on stage

Was this “Feel It Still”? I feel like they played this sarcastically, almost self-deprecating at the commercial success and new ‘fans’ it created.

It’s almost like they try to create a new experience for every show. I swear some of you guys would rather go to a show and get a list of songs they’re about to play before the show with the lyrics included so you can sing along.

The Chris LeBlanc Band used to do this when he was playing almost entirely covers. Occasionally, some hot chick would approach the stage asking him to play a tune he had already played. More often than not he would oblige.

When I saw nathanial ratcliff the first time, they played SOB twice. Once in the set, and then as an encore.

But that song had just popped. They played it on tv the night before, so everyone wanted to hear it again.

Billy Ray Cyrus opened with Achy Breaky Heart, played a medley of it in the middle of the setlist, and then closed with it

For my show, It was that song but right when it came out, which was well before the album came out.

ya but they played it twice all tour it seems. Really don't know if they were playing it "sarcastically" though.

It’s crazy how big that song became.

On the Atlanta stop of the Simon & Garfunkel reunion tour (and assuming the rest of the tour as well), they played Mrs. Robinson twice. Once during the main set, and then (with a video of clips from The Graduate as the intro) it lead off the encore.

He played it at least twice years ago when I saw him. I want to say he played it 3 times. There were a lot of drunks in the crowd that kept screaming for it.

That happened the first time I saw him at a small-ish dancehall where the drunk fans were right in front of him. He looked out and said, "Uh...yall really want to hear it again?"

Also seen him at the rodeo where he went straight through his set with a lot of material I hadn't seen him do live before. The fans were too far away from the stage to keep making requests.

Finally found what I was trying to think of when I saw this topic. I bought a vinyl copy of Johnny Cash at San Quentin a few months ago and the album includes him playing San Quentin twice in a row for the prisoners. JC is the man!

Same. First date with what turned out to be my wife was a Willie concert on the front row. He opened and closed with Whiskey River.
