Has your taste in music ever just completely change pretty much over night?

I’ve always been a fan of 60’s/70’s music (not disco), Seattle sound, and classic jazz. I can also listen old 80’s music (not hair bands) from my high school years.
I’ve never been a big country music fan. All of a sudden, the last couple days, I’ve been listening to older country (80’s & early 90’s).
I think it’s my favorite music now (Garth, George Strait, etc).
It happened pretty much over night.

I used to be a real metal head.

Still like a lot of the slower, lower, lyrically heavy stuff like Iron Maiden, Sabaton and Judas Priest, but my taste for the thrash and screaming has just fallen off. Much prefer blues and folk and old country now. Though I’ll find myself liking new stuff now and again.

Like the Mongolian throat singing of the Hu

I use to like to relax to Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald or some Louis Armstrong. Lately I find myself listening to Boosie more than anything.

I've had lots of friends that have evolved to liking country. It's never been that way for me. I listen to just about everything but country...even now.

I can tell you anything you want to know about 90’s/early 2000’s hip hop, but about 2005 I moved away from it and haven’t returned. I couldn’t tell you jack shite about anything rap in the last 15 years.

Been doing Strait and his genre for months now. Was more Willy and Waylon back then and never really got into his music. Really good stuff especially the utube with him and Miranda.

I am of the Classic Rock generation. It took getting older to appreciate some genres of music. Music like Classic Country and Classical.

I even appreciate Disco now.

Hip Hop and Rap is still pure shite and I refuse to listen to it.

I went from country to rock/heavy metal pretty quick in the 9th grade.

Similar thing happened to me, but it wasn't pure country. It was when I discovered Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco(early), JayHawks and Old 97's.

I too went through an old school country music phase about 10 years ago (in my late 20’s at the time). Pretty much Waylon, Willie, Hank, Paycheck, Dwight, George Jones, George Strait, and Keith Whitley.

It’s pretty much all I listened to for a few months. I still have them all in my playlists.

I’m not a modern country music fan at all. I’m mostly a 90’s rock guy.

I wouldn't say it was an overnight thing but I definitely listen to a lot less metal than I used to. Female singers, pop, rock and metal, are what I listen to most frequently nowadays.

I love older “hippy” rock of the 60’s & 70’s. Everything from the Beatles to Fleetwood Mac. “Landslide” is one of my favorite songs.

I do like old, original rap (NWA, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, etc)

It's evolved.

In the 70's as a kid - hard rock, but appreciated all the twangy stuff played at the service station I worked at.

College - punk / new wave / alternative

As I get older
- outlaw country when working on something outside or drinking
- listen to double time classic punk when I run or exercise
- College radio for new music influence is going on the background when i'm not in meetings for work
