Hall & Oates or Simon & Garfunkel?

Both are great but if given an opportunity to only see one pair live (in their prime).....I would go Hall & Oates all day every day.

I saw Hall and Oates last summer and they were awesome...I can only imagine what they were like in their prime. I like Simon and Garfunkel but I'm going H&O every time.

Hall & Oates were still very legit at Jazz Fest last year. Really enjoyed them. So I'm sure they were even better in their prime.
Saw Simon & Garfunkel a couple years ago at Jazz Fest as well. Art's voice was completely gone but it was still cool to see them. Wish I could have seen them earlier in their prime.

S&G created a few of the greatest melodies of all time (paul simon). A few of their songs are untouchable. That said, H&O's complete catalog is better IMO.

I disagree. S & G's music is much more complex and poetic than anything H & O ever did. H & O are much more pop/top40-oriented. That being said, I think H & O are better live performers and if given the chance I would definitely go see them.
And for those who disparage Art Garfunkle's contribution, try to imagine Paul Simon singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by himself.

This is a good spirited debate. Crazy hair and mustaches all around. One tall, one short for both. This should be close.
Simon is one of the great song writers ever. Hall is a good front man and the home of Caucasian r & b.
Garfunkel has one is not the best voices of all time. Oates has a good mustache.
Have to go with s & g.
I love them both. Saw private eyes tour in 1982 as my first concert ever. Donny iris opened and it was the bomb. Would have loved to s & g in prime but will live vicariously through the in laws that saw them in a small club of 200 in the 60s before they were famous.

Simon and Garfunkel had some great songs (Sound of Silence, I am a Rock, The Boxer, Homeward Bound, Cecilia, Mrs. Robinson, America....).
I wouldn't put anything Hall and Oates did in the same class. Sorry, but this one is not even a contest for me.
