If Simon and Garfunkel had only made the Bridge Over Troubled Water album, they still win this hands down. But I'm a big S&G fan.

Tough call for me - maybe too close to call.

Chase was the drummer for Donald Fagen and Walter Becker's college band, The Leather Canary - had he been a little better drummer, he might have been in Steely Dan, rather than SNL.
Think about that...
Oh, and as to why - Simon and Chase were best friends in the 1970s - Simon was the very first host of NBC's Saturday Night.

S&G by a mile. As previously stated, Paul Simon alone makes this a landslide for me. H&O are outstanding in their own right. Garfunkel may have paled in comparison to Simon, but his vocals were something that Simon could not touch and therefore complemented him well.
