Anyone heading to the Smoothie King Center for Greta Van Fleet and Durand Jones & the Indications?

Checking in with floor tickets. Was a little worried after they had to cancel a few concerts last week.

Not a fan of GVF, but thought about going just for Durand Jones. They don't come this way often

One of the best concerts I’ve seen in a long time. Those kids are ridiculously talented and obviously love what they do. They put on a great show. Great energy in the arena.

I don’t understand why this board loves to hate on GVF.

That guitar player f$&king rips, and the singer’s voice was strong as hell. Great performance. I will say, there were a lot of empty seats (granted, it’s a Tuesday). I think they overpriced that concert. They could have had more people there with lower prices.

Was there last night. I knew that GVF is good, but I had no idea that I’d like Durand Jones as much as I did.

The only thing I’m disappointed about with GVF is they didn’t play “Lover, Leaver” or “When the Curtain Falls”.

Seems like they cut a couple songs they’ve been playing on this tour but played longer than they have been. I think there were just having a great time jamming.

Weight of dreams and the entire encore was unbelievable. Might have been the best ending to a show I’ve ever seen

Durand is a beast, went to HS with him. I have a video from 2020 of him hanging out at my house singing on my back porch at a jam session with my friends. We were covering “Smile”, which he played last night. It’s amazing how much better the Indications do it than we did

I had a ton of fun. My wife enjoyed and she’s not really a GVF fan. The production was awesome, and they can jam.

Had never heard of Durand but they were awesome. His music was very fun, and he poured his soul into it. For sure made a fan of me.

The first album is straight fiya with this raw Otis Redding/James Brown/Wilson Pickett vibes. It’s like it stepped out of the late 60’s and slapped you across the face. “Groovy Babe” knocked me out my chair the first time I heard it. The whole album goes really hard. Each progressive album is more “smooth” in sound as they transition to an almost disco feel by the end of the third album. Also, Aaron Fraiser, the drummer with the high falsetto voice, takes over more and more of the singing with each album.

He sounded incredible, way better than that awful SNL performance years ago. Pure rock star.

I just think it was refreshing to be at a show like that last night in the day that rock seems to be dead.

Anyone know what the first song was that Durand played? I can’t find the set list online.
