As long as its not Voodoo I'll go.

I'm almost at, "No Izzy, no care."
But, they're taking neither Sorum, nor Adler as the main drummer?
When I last heard Adler talking about it, he seemed fine with taking less money, "Drummers always make less," AND sharing the stage with Sorum, "I'll play the Appetite and Lies stuff, he can play the Illusion and after, that's fine. I'll be playing what people are coming to listen to."
So, what's the problem? I understand if they can't make Izzy sign on, but why go with Ferrer on drums?

Izzy confirmed that he wouldn't be involved with the April shows. He didn't deny or confirm anything beyond that, though.

No knowledge but I would put money on it being Voodoo. The only thing that would make me think otherwise is "summer" tour.

The word on the street is this is a stadium tour. If you look at all the cities, every one of them has a large football size stadium. I am going to wait to see how these Vegas, Mexico City, & Coachella shows go before I commit to anything with this. I want the original 5 members or this not a real reunion.

Can they still fill stadiums? They must have some strong opening acts lined up.

AIC is opening the Vegas shows. Maybe they'll stick around for the full tour.

Now that would be awesome. I love the "new" AiC.

Sure love Izzy in terms of the GNR sound I loved, also love his solo Juju Hound stuff. .
As much as I love Sorum(Cult), Stinson(Replacements), Fortus(Love Spit Love and Psych Furs), Buckethead, etc..at this point in time, only an original lineup sorta intrigues me.

The linked article in the OP said they were demanding $3-5 million per show. The only way a promoter can pay GNR that much and still make any money is with an outdoor stadium size audience.
Can you imagine the crowd reaction if Axl pulls his multi-hour delay going on routine?

Adler not rejoining honestly -- not just saying this -- makes me a lot less amped to go. Steve is one of my favorite personalities in rock. The goofy bastard is just that good if you ask me. Matt Sorum...meh. He's spent a career on becoming a replacement. I thought and still think he was much less than Adler.
Izzy will never rejoin. He'll reunite with them in Copenhagen or somewhere random and play 3 songs with them.
Honestly, the people that are going to camp out for this thing are the ones who were over the top diehards or they want to see Axl and Slash on the same stage. The rest of the lineup does not even closely matter as long as those two are on stage at same time.
I knew this day was coming. I just wish it would have come about 7-10 years ago. I likely will still go...but it's not earth-shattering to me anymore. Still cool as shite.

shite, I'd probably go just to see Alice in Chains. Speaking of which, when was the last time they played in New Orleans?

AIC is not AIC without Layne

Well said. It will be fun to watch the whole thing unravel and it will.

And the only reason is some residual personal grudge of Axl's. Axl has been towing his backing band - inexplicably named Guns N Roses for years now, wheezing his way through songs, looking as if he raided a color blind pimp's wardrobe. I have little confidence in his ability to deliver the songs, show up on time, or make it through the entire show. Adler's been playing, consistently, and had a good run of being clean and sober - at least as much as anybody in the band (although he probably did have the worst problem of all of them - at one point).
But, Slash is boring. Izzy in an introvert to the extreme. Duff is Duff. Axl is an a-hole, Diva of epic proportions. Adler has the only real outgoing, likeable personality of the whole lineup. I will be very disappointed if they try to sell this as a reunion with neither Izzy nor Adler. I'm not really interested in dealing with Axl's eccentricities, either.

LOL - I will be highly interested to see whether or not Axl and this line-up can make it through the rigors of this tour without imploding....and I am highly skeptical that they can deliver the goods....especially with what they are charging.

Fully agree. Adler (co)founded the band and was always super enthusiastic. Axl is probably just pissed that Adler won that suit against them.
