Bought an electric guitar off the internet but it needs some fine tuning. Any recommendations?

Try here if not

I think I posted this correctly. Also thanks for the advice. I should have known fret shack. He’s helped before.

Hope it's American made as the Jap version is not as good.

The model above is likely Indonesian and an incredible value for the asking price. All the stuff coming out of the PTC factory, for all the brands for whom they ghost-build, are packed with bang for the buck. The neck through MII stuff is phenomenal for the asking prices too. Highly recommended.

I've had two of the above guitars come in for bench service. Other than lackluster keys that are ripe for an upgrade, they are solid guitars. Good buy. Call me if you need my help.

Eager to hear why you don't like the MIJ guitars, LesnarF5. Since their debut in the mid 1980s, the Japanese-made Charvels and Jacksons have unequivocally been the best values in the entire C/J lineage in my experience ... and I've never heard anything bad said with any owners, players or techs with whom I've discussed them. I'd suspect you played one poorly set-up or boogered example. You should play a few more.

The old USA Charvel and Jackson stuff, San Dimas and even Ontario eras, has skyrocketed on the vintage market and even I, a metal child of the 80s, would be reluctant to pay some of the insane asking prices I see.

And the current FMIC era stuff's asking prices for USA production line and especially the CS are even more out of line for what they bring to the table. No thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I’m going to call you and schedule a time to bring it in. Nothing really wrong with it but I think the truss rod needs adjusting as the action is a little high on the low end frets. I’m not skilled enough at that adjustment to start messing with it.

if you're not familiar with setting up a guitar, and evidently you're not or you wouldn't be asking this, then I'd take it in to a decent shop and let them set it up. The charge will probably be about $50 to $75. You can learn to do it with Youtube videos but sometimes it's a pain in the arse to get good intonation all over the neck.

Congrats. Love that 80's pointy guitar look. I always lusted after the Charvel/Jackson basses as a kid in the 80's. Always have my eye out on the used market.

If you want to lose a few hours checkout Dave’s World of Fun Stuff on YouTube. He’s a funny SOB that makes videos on guitar and bass setups.

I have a EVH Wolfgang Special Stealth I need to have setup for my son. I purchased a German made Floyd Rose and FU Tone 37mm L Shape Brass Block, Brass Claw,Noiseless Springs,Brass Trem stop,Titanium String Lock Screw Set and Titanium String Lock Insert block set Id like to have installed at the same time., I also bought a kill switch like the EVH USA models have that I'd like to have routed out and installed to.Is there a number I can reach you at to discuss bringing it in for the above mentioned set up and upgrades to be performed.
