I remember seeing that video early in my formative years and thinking the gal in it was the finest woman I'd ever seen.

Yeah, that's pretty guilty.

The Bangles - In Your Room
Susanna Hoffs in just a button down shirt singing
"I love it in your room all day
When you're gone I like to try on all your clothes
You won't regret it if you let me stay
I'll teach you everything that a boy should know"

James Wilsey, the guy that played guitar on that track, was quite talented.

Thanks for reminding me that the majority of music made in the 80s sucked.

I always thought so too. Shame she passed away in 2019.
We have lost some good singers from the 80's

Just the late 80s when sappy, overproduced crap like Richard Marx started getting popular....and it was still way better than most anything resembling an "era" in music the last 25 years.

When I think of '89-'90, (4) songs come to mind like a flash.
Phil Collins- Another Day in Paradise
Warrant- Heaven
Don Henley- The End of the Innocence
But this one takes the prize:
LINK
(by watching that video, I can still remember what I was doing, where I was, and with which friends); I even remember the clothes I was wearing.

I was living in Pensacola during the Summer of 88. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing Kokomo, Don't Worry, Be Happy, and Red, Red Wine.
Between that and New Kids On The Block kicking off the boy band trend around the same time, it's hard for me to think of the late 80s as anything other than a sharp decline from the music of the first half of the decade.

Oh yes, I remember vividly. Red, Red Wine was huge in 1988 and is pretty interesting b/c the song was originally released in 1983.
Add to your list "One More Try", "Man in the Mirror", "Candle in the Wind", "Hold on to the Nights" and "A Groovy Kind of Love". Great memories, I can even envision watching the Lakers & Pistons getting physical in the Finals.

Speaking of Meatloaf, I loved the video of “I would do anything for love”
Pretty sure I was in love with the chick in the video
