Ever heard the story of the intro?

They were using two 24 track machines synced together. One day they come into the studio and for some reason the tape machines didn’t synch up and the string part played solo and before the other machine began playback.

Producer Michael Omartian said it was CC’s brother who spoke up and said…hey, I like it. Let’s leave it like that.

Amazing how many times something happens like that and becomes an important part of a song.

That song intro spooked me when I was a teenager. I think I had watched the Exorcist and then when I heard the backward speaking it sounded like demons....could be I was also stoned.
