For my money, it's Songs for the Deaf by Queens of the Stone Age. There are some absolutely killer tracks on there. Plus, you've got Dave Grohl on the drums for every song except (I think) "You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire," which is in its own right a crunchy arse song.

What do y'all think?

I’d take Modest Mouse’s The Moon and Antarctica , but this is more personal preference than saying it is definitively the best rock album of the decade.

Really tough question. Could change any given day. For me, Apologies to the Queen Mary by Wolf Parade still blows me away

I wouldn’t even consider M&A a rock album, in a traditional sense, even though I love it.

OP has a strong choice.

I also don’t consider Tool “rock” so they are out.

This is my pick. I'm a huge fan of theirs, but even outside my bias, I think it merits consideration. It's a fantastic album.

What a freaking album.
That’s one of those cd’s that everyone my age owned and listened to it all the time.

Right about the time we all started driving. That CD takes me back
