My preference is usually to have a buddy or the old lady with me at a concert but I have attended them alone several times over the years and it was fine.

Like Clint said, back in my single days I would go looking for tail

I go solo frequently and always have a good time. As I’ve gotten older, it’s harder to find a concert buddy, especially for midweek shows.

The only downside is losing your place at a general admission show when making a bar/restroom run

Just went to the first night of Wilco solo and had a great time. No big deal. If you are comfortable with yourself then why not?

i've gone solo more times than with others. me and my wife have completely different music tastes so, more often we don't go together.

i've gone a lot of times with friends. but, i have no problem going alone.

all the time ... it's great. Leave when you want, no forced conversations to distract from the show.

And I even linked up with a fellow solo concert goer. We ended up dating for 6 months.

in the last year i've seen: Bleachers, Nick Cave, Pavement, War on Drugs ... all solo. When it makes sense, I bring my hot girlfriend.

I travel quite a bit...and do it all the time...never really bothers me...especially GA shows.

and usually you can snag a great seat for much cheaper as a single.

I saw Sebastian Bach last year in Ft. Lauderdale (Culture Room) and went by myself. Wife (no pics) didn't want to go (she's not into heavy rock). It was cool, spoke to random people, sold an extra ticket. Only downside I could not drink that night since it was a 30 mile drive on the way back.

I do it all the time. It’s my preferred way to do it. I have a much broader taste in music than almost everyone I know, so it’s difficult to find someone who wants to go. Finally I just said frick it and started buying singles only. Don’t have to worry about a date being bored or a bud constantly saying this sucks, but y’all are in the same car so there’s an issue.

It's hard to find people that want to go to a death metal show on a Tuesday night.

Been to many solo and had a blast.

Yep...Foghat at City Park Stadium in the seventies. I was 15, and none of my friends were allowed to go.

I'm thinking about going to see Meshuggah by myself this week. I don't know of a single person that would be willing to go with me.

I would if I was off. And lived in Texas. They're still on my list to see. They're in Atlanta but I've already done too much this year.

I do a decent amount. No use dragging my fiancé to something she won't like

My wife works at a venue, so we have access to go to all the shows. We have significantly different taste in music. Often we will go to a show that I want to see, and she ends up just going hang out in the offices with co-workers, so effectively I'm there by myself. If the show is entertaining, there is no need for someone sitting next to me to try to chat with (if it's even possible with the music)
