I love how Trombone Shorty talks. That's an incredible accent.

Watched it last night

Really enjoy it. Fascinates me him talking about his days in Nirvana and him talking about Kurt

yeah, I think he was just in shock of kurt dying. from what he said, he wouldn't listen to any music that evoked any feelings for a while.

wrote, recorded, and played every instrument on that first foo fighters record. very impressive actually.

I watched sound city. it was great. I liked the foo fighters first two records. haven't been much of a fan of anything past colour and the shape

I want to like Foo Fighters, especially given all the critical acclaim. But their music is incredibly, incredibly boring to me. I realize that it's very good/solid rock and roll, but it's just got no funk or anything to get me grooving.

Take even the Killers who have the 80's synth or 70's disco backing to their music, or Arcade Fire who has the French/classical twang, or RHCP/RATM who each have hip hop and funk stylings… they can all get your hips swaying.

I have trouble with bands that are just straight up white Americana rock and roll, which I guess is why I never got into any of the Grunge bands.

But even the grunge bands had a bit of edge to them. Foo Fighters are just the most vanilla, benign sound ever.

You're a Phish super fan-boy. There's no other response I would expect from you. God, they're awful.

By "Americana" I mean they're the equivalent of a Kansan accent. Flat with no twang or affectations. Just straight up rock and roll.

Heady still proceeds to hold court in your head prom.

Either way, your like one and only post on this board reaffirms to me that like the foo fighters, you too are the most vanilla and boring poster on this site
