Looks like she has an album coming out this year and she has won or been nominated for grammies for every album she released over the years. But she only releases them every 6 or 7 years.

Drugs were part of it. She looked like she was on the verge of death for a few years but had been making somewhat of a quiet comeback. I think she's about to drop a new album.

It's coming out April 17. It was originally scheduled to release this fall I think, but she moved it up to next Friday just recently.
I enjoyed Extraordinary Machine quite a bit, but haven't ever been able to get into most of her stuff, outside of a few singles.
I saw her live in '06. She put on a pretty good show but is a bit socially awkward.

Lot of voice out of a little woman.
She sang a few with Jacob Dylan in the Laurel Canyon tribute concert/show not too long ago (either netflix or amazon,don't recall) looked good and sounded strong.
