You can define "obscure" however you want, but I see it at as a band or music project that few people know about, with a small amount of streaming service followers

Dean DeLeo, lead guitarist of Stone Temple Pilots, has a band called "One More Satellite". They have 17,000 followers on Spotify.

They are decent.

Just posted this one (Desert Sessions) not long ago:

quote:

Vols. 11 & 12 is the sixth compilation album by the desert rock supergroup Desert Sessions, a side project of Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. It is a compilation of the group's eleventh release, titled Arrivederci Despair and their twelfth release, titled Tightwads & Nitwits & Critics & Heels. It was released in October 2019, the group's first release after a 16-year hiatus. The album features contributions by various rock artists including Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint, Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters, Mike Kerr of Royal Blood, Carla Azar of Autolux, Les Claypool of Primus, Matt Sweeney, Dave Catching, Matt Berry, and Libby Grace.

If John Doe and Exene are performing as The Knitters, and they are playing Burning House of Love, aren't they really just X?

“Love Spit Love was an English–American alternative rock band founded in 1992 by English singer Richard Butler during the 1990s hiatus of the Psychedelic Furs. The band released two albums and has not been active since 2000.”

I don't know if it counts as obscure because it actually charted well but Steven Tyler did a country album which I thought was odd

I was just at Rancho De La Luna about a month ago... Dave has a pretty cool setup out there (no wasted space), and you would never imagine all that music has come out of that little house..

Not if they country it up. I've seen the Knitters a few times and it's a totally different show than X
