Came across this page and it was a nice trip down memory lane and thought I'd share. Didn't know that Eddie Murphy played the dome. What was y'alls favorite?

I grew up in Lafayette and have seen many shows there. That list is not totally accurate. The R. Kelly show in 1996 and the Godsmack show in 2001 were cancelled. There's probably more on that list that were cancelled too. The Smashing Pumpkins show was originally scheduled the night before R Kelly but that got moved. Alter Bridge in 2005 was at the Convention Center, not the dome. As for best show I saw there

I was at this Metallica show. Insane. I knew about the joke at the end with the stuntman being set on fire because we went to the show in Memphis.

I could have sworn that ZZ Top was the first band to play in the Cajundome. I used to listen to KSMB when I was in high school and I remember them promoting that a lot. If I remember correctly, they were also promoting that ZZ Top was going to do a song or two from a Lafayette bar that would be broadcast as part of a European music awards show.
I saw the Smashing Pumpkins/Garbage show in 1996, which was not good - the Pumpkins had horrible sound and Billy Corgan was a dick. Also saw the Bob Dylan/Paul Simon show a few years later, which was quite good.

Looks like George strait owned the Cajun Dome in the late 80s / early 90s

I was at the KISS show in 85. Tommy Thayer's group Black N Blue opened up. 19 year later he's in KISS Strange world.

Nice list.
Who would you go see if you could go back in time?
I'd say The Eagles.

The 1998 KORN show was part of the Family Values tour that also included Rammstein, Limp Bizkit and Ice Cube.

I seen't Aerosmith there. That was PEAK 90s Aerosmith. I half expected Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyler to come out on stage.
No mention of "The Greatest Show on Earth"?
I think it was:
Live
Hootie
Better Than Ezra
Cowboy Mouth
(A VERY early) 3 Doors Down
