A truly tortured soul. RIP Elliott.

such an amazing songwriter (lyrics and music, he was impressive in his creation of both). and the sounds that he would construct (mostly by himself), the layering of vocals and guitars created such an atmospheric delivery. good shite. RIP

Coast to Coast is my favorite. Shoutsout to Dylan Rieder. RIP to both.

True talent gone too soon. Much like Jeff Buckley, etc.. One of my good friends dogs me over my appetite for elegant sad sack music. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Love Smith, Joseph Arthur, Ron Sexsmith, Blue Nile, Bryan Ferry, etc..

Smith's ' Miss Misery' to close Good Will Hunting's Mass to Cali car ride..excellent.

Was lucky enough to see him in Austin a few months before his death. Roman candle & S/T are goats.

Have heard many songs by him and i just never got the appeal. Sounds much like the average indie folk sound.

The average indie folk sound has been trying to replicate him for years.

I only discovered his music shortly after his death. He's one of my favorite artists. Either / Or is probably my favorite at the moment. RIP. I still have doubts about how he allegedly died.

Like many other people, I was introduced to Elliot Smith through The Royal Tenenbaums (major spoiler).
