Which band do you think was the most inadvertently dorky-looking on the stage? It's the Cars, right? It's got to be the Cars.

I remember hearing early Feelies and loving the sound as a teenager... When I first got a copy of Crazy Rhythms... I was like, huh... a bunch of nerds!

Many "New Wave" bands of the late '70s chose a dorkish look in reaction to '70s heavy metal and yacht rock, just as their music was a reaction to those genres.
However, upon further consideration, I believe I can name the absolute dorkiest-looking band of all time, whose look was not a camp-inspired reaction or parody, but in fact a natural, unaffected choice.

Not a band, but Jason Isbell looks like a 5 foot tall self-absorbed version of Dwight Schute from The Office. Minus the humor and likeability.
Just add the glasses and middle-part haircut from Dwight to his brother below and they are twins……
