Watch and listen to it on the Pulse tour. Mind boggling song and light show. Fun also to watch first time listeners on YouTube.

It's incredible how popular the "first time listener" and "reaction" youtube channels are.

I have to admit though, I am guilty of giving some of these people clicks. I do like watching vocal coaches, music teacher, composers and such "react" to songs. It's enlightening to see them break down WHY the songs do what they do and what makes them great.

This. The reactions that are just shock and overacting don't really add anything and are not interesting to me. The ones that provide actual musical analysis and insight, are.

Yeah there are a few vocal coaches, guitarists, and drummers that break down songs from their point of view on first listen and that can be interesting. I don't really care to just watch some rando though.

I agree some are overacting, but some are genuine, I can tell the difference.

The black dudes thinking Bobbie Caldwell was a black singer are awesome.

No band has the depth of composition like Pink Floyd. Pair that with Gilmour’s out-of-this-world guitar chops and you have one of, if not the best band of all time.

As to their best song? I dunno. Brain Damage/Eclipse is up there.

Such an epic ending to a ride through that album.

I have pondered through the years of my "Favorite" Floyd song and it is not easy for me. I will say that Echoes was the song that back in the mid 70's brought me on board and it has been a hell of a 50 year ride. It's still my favorite if I had to pick one. I wont say its their best song but its my favorite

My favorites

1 - Echoes

Shine on you crazy diamond
Dogs
Time
Sorrow (Live Version)
Wot's uh the deal

My favorite version of CN was performed live in New Orleans May14 1994

I was there in the plaza level of the dome. Was a religious experience after having just graduated high school. The scene around the dome before the concert was insane.

A couple of interesting notes. NOLA PD shot a guy during the show who pulled a gun on the officer who was trying to arrest the guy’s wife for refusing to put out her joint. Also the dome fined PF a big fine when a laser got stuck in one spot too long and did damage to the ceiling (supposedly)

I generally have trouble with this sort of thing, but for PF, it's actually easy for me. It's Time, and I especially love when stations play the Breathe reprise version.

"No band has the depth of composition like Pink Floyd."

I would put Genesis (pre 1976) in this category as well.

But no band ever had the sound production, mixing and editing on their studio albums like Pink Floyd. Their secret weapon as Alan Parsons producing Dark Side Of The Moon.
Regardless of what type of song PF was recording, the sound quality of their albums was unparalleled.

Idk, I come back to this every now and then and feel like that’s my favorite guitar solo. David Gilmour fricking kills it.

Prob, I guess I’ve come across some young brothers listening to stuff like this, so I don’t think they were listening to this with friends or at parties before, but also doesn’t mean they never heard it.
