I know, "rap 'music' on MY music board?" but I enjoy the guy's work. He's been drip feeding singles for the last few years as a lead up to the new album and seems to have gotten his confidence back after a disaster of an album in 2019. He's selling the album for $8 and it comes with a CD and a digital download, so he's really leaning into that kind of indie mixtape rapper vibe again. And like the title says, he's doing a show at the Fillmore on Sept. 27th

Chance is one of those rappers that I want to succeed, and will give him a shot every chance, but he keeps letting my down. I wanted to like The Big Day, but it was dog shite.

I'll give this one a shot but he really needs to deliver.

He did a song on Kimmel or some other late night show last week - HORRENDOUS.

It was on in the background and I had to come in and check who was singing because it was just so insanely bad.

Sadly, the amount that I loved Acid Rap and was completely a fan boy of Chance is in inverse proportion to how I feel about him now. Not sure how he fell so far. I’ll always give him another chance but it’s just been a steady downhill slide since Acid Rap.

I LOVED Acid Rap and Coloring Book. I went ahead and turned on a VPN and listened to Star Line. It's releasing based on your time zone so if you have an EU or Australia location you can play it.

I won't say it's Acid Rap, but it's far from The Big Day. A good bit of the album is like if Chance had written To Pimp a Butterfly, at least in content. There's a good bit of R&B and jazzy focus in the background. It's well produced. The Highs and the Lows and Space and Time are huge highlights, I'd put them up there with some of his best work.
