It’s a traveling Vegas lounge show. No one is there to see her perform her songs. They’re there to be entertained with a giant spectacle.

She has written some well known hits for other artists; e.g. Little Big Town.

Basic white bitch singing about BWB problems to other basic white bitches. Unsure why anyone else bothers to latch on.

ELvis had a huge boost in popularity with his movie appearances back starting in the 50s.

For every teen girl there is a hot 30-40 year old cougar dressed to the nines with her girl group.

Nope. But three are quite a few old guys who seem mad about Taylor Swift. They make multiple threads about her.

The whole Eras tour is a psy-op IMO. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if the demand is artificial just to create hysteria and distract people/get them to spend a ton of money.

do doubt, growing up in the 60s-70s the teen girls were all " We have to get home early, there's an Elvis movie on tonight".

I bet the face value of a ticket in nose bleed is close to the face value of saints ticket in the same area.

I’m paying more to go to an LSU game than some will have paid for her concert. Now others will be paying out the arse on the resell market, but still.

As in, she's been very popular for a long time and it doesn't surprise me she's in demand. But she seems to have hit a new height in popularity quite suddenly and at a time when I - 30s male who doesn't listen to the radio but generally knows what's going on in the world - hadn't heard about anything to really launch her to a new height.

I remember when she played at TS years ago for like the first bayou super fest. All the girls I knew were crazy trying to see her. Those chicks are all now almost 40.

She’s been popular for a long long time. One of her albums, like every damn song was on the radio. This isn’t an overnight thing.

I’m pretty sure this is her first big tour since she started re-recording her music. Hence “The Eras Tour” where she’s covering an absurd amount of music in one set. She was supposed to have this tour during COVID and it got cancelled

This is partially it. But it's less the rerecords and more about how much music she has put out and not toured. Lover came out before the pandemic and was the tour that was cancelled. She then recorded Folklore and Evermore and Midnights, all new music and rerecorded 3 albums with a 4th due in October. With Lover she was planning something called Loverfest, I'm not positive but I think the plan was to do full weekend shows (sort of like The Eras tour) but each night would be something different. By that I mean every Friday would cover these albums, Saturday these etc

Nope, completely factual. Travis Scott's new song just knocked TS out of the Billboard top spot. Bad Bunny was the number one streamed artist last year. The Weeknd is this year and holds Guinness records for most streams and subscribers. Ed Sheeran, Shakira, Miley Cyrus, and Ariana Grande all have more Spotify listeners than her. Swift is not the most popular pop artist right now, let alone of all time.

Can any of these acts sell 60K plus tickets in minutes for a stadium tour around the world?

Very simple it has become a female coming of age type of girl power thing. Plus then there is the peer pressure of going to the concert and certain parents feeling they have to do that for their kid. I have not been involved but all power to anyone who has. Lot of worse things people could be doing.

No. If I wanted to get tickets to tomorrow's Ed Sheeran show in Denver right this second, I could do so for $49.
