Wow there is a lot there. On Monday I sorta glanced at the interview Dave did and thought those commens made it sound like Boyd wasn't coming back or that they didn't think he was rushing back.

I can't see him coming back after this.

I'd be curious about what the band knew and when. Obviously, they had to know he was creepy as hell, but maybe chalked up any suspicious behavior to being weird/eccentric. I can't see him coming back from this, because even more stories will likely emerge.

And who the hell ends a text message with "I'm in full jerk right now, catch you later."

Wow this is wild. Still enjoy their music but used to be a huuuge fan. Like someone said, simply the allegations do more damage than the truth whenever it comes out, but officially kicking him out of the band doesn’t bode well for him. Will definitely be interested to see where this winds up for Boyd ‘out of’ tunesly

Same here. Don't listen to them all that much anymore but there was a time when they were my favorite band by far. I've seen more DMB shows than I can count. This is pretty shocking news.

And that's the thing. As much as I liked the band, I always thought he was the weak link. The band got better after the unfortunate passing of Leroi and I hate to say it but I think they'll be better without Boyd too.

I agree, he was certainly the least musically dynamic and I think they have since replaced him with Robert Randolph. I sometimes wonder if he ever made advances on Stefan, he was 16 when they found him. I’m sure they all had private lives, I don’t doubt that Dave and the others may seriously not have known about this stuff.

I cannot disagree with this more. Leroi brought something to DMB no other sax player could. Jeff is a great musician, but he can't replace what Leroi brought to the band.

I was wondering who was filling in for him on this tour. Randolph is a massive upgrade but I don't see that continuing long term.

No, me either. But the swiftness with which they booted him makes me think they believe it's all true.

Robert Randolph is not touring with DMB this year, however, Buddy Strong will be playing keys on the tour

The instances of misconduct began in earnest after that. According to CoS, Frost-Winn remembers Tinsley buying him and his friends tickets to a New York Giants football game then, “When he did it, he said: ‘You better suck my dick or something.’ I thought maybe that was a funny joke or something, but it wasn’t also 100% joking.” Frost-Winn says that Tinsley later asked to wear his dirty socks before going on stage with DMB.

The most appalling accusation comes from a recording session Crystal Garden had with Tinsley at the violinist’s home studio in Virginia. As Frost-Winn tells, CoS, Tinsley apparently got extremely frustrated with the band at one point, even smashing a vintage guitar, then later, when Frost-Winn was napping on the couch after a long night of recording, he woke up to Tinsley masturbating next to him.

CoS also shares alleged texts from Tinsley that show the musician asking for photos of Frost-Winn and telling him plans for lewd photo shoots and that he was “actually masturbating to the thought of” the photos. “I just tried to do something to laugh it off,” Frost-Winn tells Cos. “I couldn’t straight-up ignore him because he’s our boss. I wasn’t the only person he was hitting on in this group, but he would make it like ‘you’re the most sexy person in the band,’ ‘there’s just something about you.’”

Thanks for the clarification. Like I said, I'm sort of out of the loop DMB-wise these days. I think keys add a lot of depth to their sound. When Butch Taylor stopped touring with them, suddenly they sounded "thin" to me.

I agree. Reports from the rehersals and sound checks have used the term "jazzy" quite a bit. Jazzy DMB is my favorite DMB

He's in a rock band..... I thought this was standard behavior for being in a rock band. What is this world coming to? Rock stars are going to be that way.....am I wrong?

Explains why he left so abruptly and I don't see anyway he comes back unless this all somehow turns out to be bullshite. Which from the sound of it doesn't sound possible.

I'm going to see them tomorrow night at Starplex in Dallas. Will come back and report on the band's mood and what the show is now like.

First off: if these are true, it sucks that Boyd Tinsley was such a crappy person.

Secondly: if they indeed are once again featuring a keyboard player, Im thrilled. Butch Taylor with DMB was some incredible stuff. He added a deeper level of musicianship to the band, and he and Carter played off of one another extremely well

If anyone could go and be replaced I’d def say replace fiddle with keys. Organ/piano adds another level

Was at the Woodlands show tonight. Pretty unique set compared to the last 5 years.

The band’s chemistry was great and they were all having fun. Almost like a weight had been lifted.

Buddy Strong is the truth.

The only real noticeable gaps in not having Boyd the creepster was on Crush.

All of the allegations are unsettling, but for some reason the dirty socks creeped me out more than anything.
