Let’s start naming off what would be the biggest or best bands that either formed after 2000 or reached their peak post 2000
Biggest band post 2000 would probably have to be Linkin Park their album sales from 2000-2010 were ridiculously high only being topped by Eminem in total records sold.
Other bands that I’d argue could fit into that discussion Green Day, White Stripes, Radiohead, My Chemical Romance, The Strokes, and Muse
As far as best well that’s all just subjective and I’ll let y’all take that one

Nickelback and Shinedown have both been pretty big at various points in time

I wouldn't say "best" but Imagine Dragons has outsold everyone mentioned other than Coldplay and Linkin Park.

Muse is 1994 and Radiohead is 1993; that is a little early. I would go White Stripes, Strokes, Arcade Fire, Artic Monkeys, LCD Soundsystem, and Interpol.

My thought too. Obviously around before 2000 but not meaningfully for this conversation.

Muse is 1994
They didn't release any singles or full albums until 1999 and didn't really get huge until 2003. They definitely qualify as "reached their peak post 2000."
Radiohead definitely doesn't qualify, though. Pablo Honey, The Bends, and OK Computer were all 90s releases.

Rival Sons - great rock band, opened for Black Sabbath on their farewall tour
Crobot - not a big band but high quality hard rock

Not sure on the others but Green Day and Radiohead aren’t post 2000 bands. Some of their biggest albums were from the 90s
