wow. they are still going? I
They started playing a few shows about 3 or 4 years ago mostly at Dan's SilverLeaf in Denton which is their hometown and Brent works sound at Dan's now. I've seen them 3 times since they reformed and since they are mostly sober now, they put on a good show.

we cut way back on shows this year
My favorite was Ben Nichols at The Devil's Backbone Tavern, then probably the Boys From Oklahoma in Stillwater

Besides seeing friends play in small venues, The Surfrajettes was the only real concert and they were fantastic. I was surprised with how hard they rocked. Surf yes, but they were incredibly tight and kicked arse all night.
A highlight was a medley of "In-A-Gada-Da-Vida" with "Sunshine Of Your Love". Best $20 I spent all year.

He still has a lot of energy (and the swagger) considering his age. The Blues Explosion absence was noticeable, but it was still a great show.

Forgot I saw Jeff Tweedy with his sons as his backing band in Massachusetts this summer and it was a great show. Also saw Kurt Vile in New Haven and it was awesome as well.

I hate to rank em because its art and its up to the beholder but:
- Paul McCartney - just amazing.
- Dead & Co with Billy Strings, Sturgill Simpson, and Trey Anastasio over 3 days in Golden Gate Park was very, very special.
- Wilco - Just lucked into a show in Asheville when I was on vacation
- Tedeschi Trucks Band - they were in Asheville too on a makeup gig from the flood
- Bob Wier with the orchestra at the Saenger in NOLA
