Allgood Music Company.

They had a really good sound. Out of Athens I think.

"Like Dreamers Do" was on heavy rotation on 92ZEW in the late 80s. Just listened to it again on You Tube. Love that song.

The Judys (from Houston)

Break out a blast from the past. I think CAD and I discussed The Judy's Guyana Punch on here before.

Out of Austin:
Bad Mutha Goose (funk)

North MS:
Blue Mountain

New Orleans:
Killer Bees (reggae band)
But I think Papi Mali is still doing his thing with well known artists and solo now.

Not sure if serious, they may not have had commercial success but toured nationally for years.

The Producers though loved by MTV's Martha Quinn, were mostly an southern states college band, and never gained Cars-esque traction.

Phoenix Phunk Junkeez, were rap rockers that were popular mainly on the west coast, but not of RHCP scale.

In the early 2000s, lived in Austin for a blip, loved Grand Champeen & Li'l Cap'n Travis, both were great to catch live at Continental Club,etc..and had a few great albums on the Glurp label, but we're almost just a Foothills thing in popularity.
