Cranberries, around 2020 maybe late 1999. Great show, Dolores voice was magistic with a guitar twice her size. I will always remember that concert.

The violent femmes in high school, in garage, working on songs. Just awesome.

I haven't been what I'd call a lot of concerts in my life but I've enjoyed pretty much all of them to varying degrees. The one that stands out as being pretty crappy was bob dylan in atlanta, idk the year but it was probably around 2009-2010ish? Wilco and MMJ opened. I'd never heard MMJ but unsurprisingly was impressed with them more than the others playing that day. I really only saw dylan to check that box and say I saw him before he died. He just sat there in a chair quietly mumbling away with an acoustic guitar. He had zero energy and charisma and as such neither did the crowd. Felt like I was at a funeral.

Best - Sigur Ros in 2011 or 2012 when they had an orchestra backing them. My jaw is still on the floor from it.

Worst - All 3 times I saw Bob Dylan.

many great ones, some life changing
but the absolute worst was blues traveler at red rocks on the 4th of July, which is saying something considering the venue and the setting

it was so bad as to be comical

evidently they are about three hours shy of material to fill a four hour booking...no lie we got 20 minute bass, drums, keyboard AND guitar solos along with all the beloved BT deep cuts.

all you could do was laugh and enjoy the ridiculousness

Worst: The Bob Seger Band. 1975, Auditorium North Hall in Memphis. I got too drunk too fast and basically missed the show. Don’t know if Seger was good or not. They told me he was. I never got drunk or stoned again at a concert. I’m a quitter, I know.

Runner up: Van Halen at Hirsch Coliseum, Shreveport, 1978. Horrible sound. DLR is awful.

Best: NRBQ at The New Daisy Theater, Memphis, 1994. The classic lineup of Big Al Anderson, Terry Adams, Tommy Ardolino(RIP) and Joey Spampinato. They played their notorious cover of Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Worst concert I ever went to was Billy Squire in Augusta Ga back in the early 80's. When they would finish a song I swear I could have dropped a coin on the floor and half the arena would have heard it.

At least the opening act, Saga, was a little better, the crowd actually responded to them a bit, they were pretty decent

What about it made it so bad?

Also it seems like bob dylan being awful anytime in tbe 21st century is a common theme lol

I was there, it was 2013. It was awful all around... The venue sucks big time, which led to a lot of the boring atmosphere... and I believe it was during the day, too...

I felt like I was watching a glorified sound check... we left early...

At the chimes? I was there too.

I can't really say what the best is, Billy Bragg at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano in 1990 is up there. Centro attic in Dallas in 97 and several other of their shows. Dash Rip rock at the chimes on Tuesday nights in 1985ish. Beck at a 400 person venue early 2000s. Stephen Malkmus recently, Bauhaus recently, the list goes on.

The worst is probably Spoon at Hard Rock Dallas in early 2000s,boring as hell.

It wasn't the Chimes. It was a place near (I think) Mike Anderson's

One of the times I saw Dylan was at a festival and I wasn't there to see him, but he was playing a stage close to an act I was there to see so we watched for a few minutes before heading to the other stage. That was a few minutes too long.

The other 2 were definitely by choice.
